The reverse shows the inscription “BENE MERENTI” within a well-executed laurel wreath. This example corresponds to the Type II issue (circa 1906–1914), distinguished by the sharp high-relief portrait, narrow lettering, and refined wreath detail, typical of pre–First World War production. Awarded for meritorious civil or state service, the Bene Merenti Medal was bestowed upon Romanian and foreign recipients alike.
