利比亚沙漠玻璃 冲击石 - 28 g

Formed by a massive impact near the Libyan border with Egypt, this impactite is one of the most sought after type. As a result of the heat and pressure of the impact event, desert sands were melted and formed an impact glass in a a wide range of shapes and colors from yellowish-white to yellow and black-yellow. Specimens frequently have small pieces of the meteorite encased within the glass. They can have aerodynamic features similar to meteorites as a result of being thrown into the air in a molten state. Ancient Egyptians already knew about these rocks, and they picked them up and used them to make tools and jewelry for the Pharaohs, for example, for the famous Tutankhamun's pendant with Wadjet. - Weight: 28 grams. Packages are usually sent the morning after the auction. Shipping is combined in all my listings - if you win multiple items, only one shipping cost is paid. About the seller: My name is Adrian Vilchez, and I am deeply passionate about Astronomy and Planetary Sciences. I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Planetary Geology and Geophysics. My interest in meteorites extends far beyond collecting; I actively conduct research on asteroids and meteorites, collaborating with universities and research groups worldwide. This work allows me to bridge scientific research with the preservation and study of extraterrestrial materials.
