Well-used male figure used as a guardian of an Fon houshold. These guardians or "Botchoi", were placed in front of the house to protect the community. Regularly they are poured over with sacrificial liquids to empower this figure and make it more strong in its protective force. This is clearly visible on this specific figure; a sacrificial crust has emerged. Height.; 34 cm. Beautiful collector`s item!
