Kazutaka Narahara, one of Japan's leading photographers, has published his first photo book, “Europe: Still Time”. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Chuo University, Narahara majored in art history at the graduate school of Waseda University, and since then he has been devoted to avant-garde art, interacting with many artists and paving the way for a career as a photographer.Kazutaka Narahara made a strong debut with his first exhibition “Human Land” in 1956, and received the Japan Photo Critics Association He won the Newcomer's Award of the Japan Photography Critics Association for “Kingdom” in 1958. His first book, “The Land of Man,” was published in 1967, and is a personal documentary compiled from over 30,000 negatives taken during his three-year stay in Europe from 1962. According to the author, it is "a discovery of Europe, a dialogue between the core of Europe and my heart. The book is full of original black-and-white and color illustrations that are still full of “newness” and “surprise” even today. The book was designed by Kohei Sugiura (with the cooperation of Mitsuo Katsui), and is bound in “radio binding,” which was new at the time, so that the photographic illustrations can be enjoyed beautifully even when the pages are facing each other.
