Napako - Josef Hurka - 灯具 - 1633 - 金属 - Original
An original desk lamp model 1633 by Napako, designed by Josef Hurka in the 1960s. Manufactured in the former Czechoslovakia.
Steel structure with a dark gray painted aluminum lampshade with a mushroom-shaped cap, powered by an E27 bulb. It is in excellent original condition.
Napako was founded in 1919 by a group of small private companies in Prague, and the name was created by combining the first syllables of the words toolmaker, passers, and metal printer. Since the 1940s, the company has been associated with the name Josef Hůrka, who for decades designed highly successful lamps for the company. It uses an E27 bulb.
Josef Hurka
The Czech designer Josef Hůrka designed lighting, including desk and table lamps, as well as floor and ceiling lights, for the manufacturers Drupol, Napako, and Lidokov. His career lasted nearly four decades, but one of his earliest collaborations, with the lighting manufacturer Napako (NÁstrojaři-PAsíři-KOvotlačitelé), proved to be the most fruitful. His lamps are available in vibrant colors and feature geometric and angular shapes. Projects for Napako include a UFO-shaped ceiling light inspired by Bauhaus ('30s); the model 1618 table lamp (1954), which has an adjustable cylindrical lampshade on a tripod base; the model 1633 table lamp ('50s); the model 0513 table lamp ('50s), with a lacquered tin conical lampshade; and for Drupol, the model 21616 table lamp (1963).(1963).
