2017 Massetino The first Massetino harvest, 2017, was launched on the market exactly 30 years after the first Masseto harvest and just like its older brother, this wine combines power, opulence, classicism and discretion. The grapes, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, were hand-picked in 15kg crates and once they reached the cellar they were transferred, by gravity, into cement tanks where fermentations took place, separate for each plot. After malolactic fermentation and the first 12 months of aging, the musts were assembled and reintroduced into barriques for another three months, after which Massetino was bottled. Bright ruby ​​red, the nose shows elegant fruity notes of ripe cherries and blackberries, then more complex nuances of licorice and cloves, tobacco and mint, the whole enriched by green tones of fern and rich mineral puffs. Warm, rich tasting, with excellent gustatory balance thanks to the lively freshness and velvety tannins, it shows an excellent persistence, confirming itself as a crisp and whole wine. Powerful, as much as the vintage from which it is born.
