Chinese porcelain plate famille rose/verte roosters –China- Yongzheng period On offer is a Chinese porcelain multi-colored famille rose/verte rooster plate dating back to the first half of the 18th Century. This nice plate has a central decoration of a hen and rooster with chicks, walking in a field with lingzhi. On the raised edge of the plate a trellis pattern in famille verte interrupted by 4 medallions with stylized peonies. At the rim 4 roosters and further floral decorations. Nice ochre colored rim. The plate is richly decorated using no less than 7 colors. This must have been an expensive plate to purchase at the time. The design is probably quite rare. I could not find examples on the internet. Date: Yongzheng to early Qianlong period ca. 1730-1740. Size: This plate measures ca. 23 cm across. Condition: Very good! Only a colored rim frit as pictured on the photos. No hairlines. Good ring sound! Will be packed very well and shipped with registered track/trace with insurance.
