Medal Description Appearance: The medal is round, 36 mm in diameter, made of silver-plated bronze. Obverse: The center depicts a Gallic rooster against a sunburst background, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Around the rim is the inscription in French: "CORPS EXPÉDITIONNAIRE FRANÇAIS D'ITALIE * 1943-1944 *" (French Expeditionary Corps in Italy). Reverse: Within the same laurel wreath, encircling the rim, are the initials "CEF" (French: Corps Expéditionnaire Français) in the center, with the inscription "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" (Russian: French Republic) above them, and a five-pointed star below. Ribbon: 36 mm wide silk moiré ribbon consisting of seven red and six white alternating vertical stripes of equal width.
