2THE SKY, my Ender Nobuyoshi Araki Taka Ishii/2009/Japanese/210*260*13 Nobuyoshi Araki, one of the most famous photographers of the 20th century, has been working since the death of his beloved wife Yoko in 1990, and since then his works have been mainly based on the motifs of flowers and the sky, impressing us with his “view of life and death” as a photographer. This book is the collection of Araki's works that most clearly depicts his “view of life and death” in the 2000s. Since January 2009, he has been painting and collaging “sky” landscapes to express his feelings about death. He continued to do so until August 15, the anniversary of the end of the war, and the series of paintings was compiled in a book entitled “Posthumous Work: Sky 2” (limited to 1,000 copies) published by Shinchosha. The book, titled “Sora 2,” consists of illustrations created from then until the end of the year, and was published in a solo exhibition at Taka Ishii Gallery in December to commemorate the publication of the Shinchosha edition.
