ZZ Top is an American blues rock and hard rock band formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. This power trio consists of Billy Gibbons on guitar and vocals, Dusty Hill on bass, keyboards, and vocals, and Frank Beard on drums. They have the distinction of being one of the few rock groups that still had its original members after fifty years (until Hill's death in 2021), and also of having maintained the same manager and producer, Bill Ham, for almost the same number of years. They are popularly known for their distinctive style, primarily that of Gibbons and Hill, who are always pictured wearing sunglasses, similar or sometimes identical clothing, and very long beards.
