Oremus Petracs 2020 – Tokaj, Hungary Petracs 2020 is a dry white wine made exclusively from 100% Furmint grapes grown in the historic Petrács vineyard in Tokaj‑Hegyalja, one of the most esteemed terroirs in Hungary. The vineyard sits at about 200 m altitude on steep slopes of andesitic rock and soils rich in semi‑precious minerals, contributing a clear mineral intensity to the wine. Vines average around 60 years old and are farmed traditionally by hand, maintaining centuries‑old viticultural practices.  Winemaking begins with gentle pressing and fermentation in new French and Hungarian oak barrels, followed by an extended ageing regime: several months on lees in barrel with regular batonnage, then further maturation in stainless steel before bottling in early 2021. This extended process builds texture and complexity while preserving freshness.  Tasting profile: The 2020 vintage presents a fresh, mineral‑driven character with layers of ripe orchard fruit, subtle spice and a saline undertone reflecting its volcanic‑influenced soils. The palate is concentrated and sustained, with a long, deep finish and elegant structure that rewards careful drinking now but also offers cellaring potential.
