Model History: The King Seiko line was created to represent Seiko’s highest standards of mechanical watchmaking outside the Grand Seiko program. Introduced in the late 1960s and produced by Daini Seikosha, the King Seiko 56-series marked Seiko’s move toward slim, high-beat automatic movements with refined finishing and excellent real-world accuracy. The ref. 5625-7000 is powered by the calibre 5625, a 28,800 bph Hi-Beat automatic movement with hand-winding and hacking seconds, but without a day complication, making it one of the cleaner and more balanced KS dial layouts. Its sharply faceted case, applied indices, and restrained silvery white sunburst dial reflect the precise, functional design language that defined King Seiko at the turn of the 1970s.
