由古川大光创作的禅书法卷轴,妙心寺 - 日本 - 21世纪
This is a refined Japanese hanging scroll featuring a single-line Zen calligraphy reading “Heiwa waga ie sode” (平和吾家襄), written by Furukawa Daikō, a Zen monk associated with Myōshin-ji, one of the principal temples of the Rinzai Zen school in Kyoto.
Executed in hand-brushed ink on paper, the calligraphy expresses a message of peace and harmony within one’s home, reflecting core Zen values of inner calm, balance, and spiritual clarity. The brushwork is powerful yet restrained, showing confident strokes and natural rhythm characteristic of Zen writing.
The scroll is mounted in traditional format with bamboo rollers, giving it a light and elegant presence well suited for tokonoma display or a meditation space.
Calligraphic works by Zen monks have long been appreciated not only as visual art but also as expressions of philosophy and spiritual cultivation. This scroll represents an appealing example of modern Japanese Zen calligraphy, ideal for collectors of Japanese art, Buddhism-related objects, and traditional hanging scrolls.
