Many mosquitoes are encased in Burmese amber.
Burmese amber, also known as Burmite, is a fossilized resin primarily from the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar. It is renowned for its exceptional ability to preserve ancient life forms, including insects, plants, and other organisms often trapped inside. This amber is estimated to be about 99 million years old, dating back to the Cretaceous period (before the appearance of Tyrannosaurus rex!). It has a rich golden color with reddish-brown hues and high transparency, making it highly valued by collectors and scientists, providing us with a rare window into prehistoric ecosystems.
We use PE boxes to store each piece of amber, ensuring its safety and ease of collection.
