蓝釉雕塑器皿《在夜空中起舞》 - 陶瓷 - Yasushi Fujihira / 藤平寧 (1963– ) - 日本 - Heisei period (1989-present)

A sculptural vessel glazed in deep blue, where undulating folds evoke fabric drifting through night. Description This ceramic work is shaped as a vessel with flowing, organic contours that rise from a circular foot. The body unfolds into irregular, wave-like edges that suggest fabric caught in motion, with soft peaks and valleys across the rim. The entire surface is covered in a blue glaze that transitions between deeper and lighter tones across the undulating form. The glaze displays subtle variations in color intensity, with scattered golden-brown specks visible throughout. An applied loop handle emerges from one side of the vessel. The foot ring reveals the unglazed clay body beneath. The work is accompanied by a wooden box with ink calligraphy reading "夜空に舞う" (Dancing in the Night Sky) and the artist's signature "寧" with a red seal. Dimensions Height: 15.5 cm Width: 18.5 cm Depth: 11 cm Weight: 662g Condition: No visible chips, cracks, or repairs. Minor kiln-related marks, glaze variations, or signs of handling may be present. Artist Profile Yasushi Fujihira (born 1963) is a Japanese ceramic artist from Kyoto Prefecture and the son of renowned potter Shin Fujihira. He trained at the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Training School and has been selected multiple times for major Japanese exhibitions including Nitten. His work is recognized for a poetic sensibility paired with ambitious sculptural form, where glaze and contour collaborate to create a sense of motion. Collectors value his ceramics for their refined surfaces, strong presence, and distinctly contemporary interpretation of Japanese craft lineage.
