The lid is decorated with a central floral medallion, framed by meticulous panels of fish-scale and trellis motifs in underglaze cobalt blue. The pattern repeats on the lower body, creating a seamless aesthetic when closed. Technical Features Glaze: Features the characteristic "inky" blue tones of the 16th century with visible "heaping and piling" effects where the cobalt has concentrated. Base: The unglazed foot rim shows a distinct iron-red oxidation (burnt orange), a hallmark of authentic Ming firing where the iron-rich clay body reacted with the kiln atmosphere.
