3 个传统的日本木娃娃 - 木 - 日本 - Shōwa period (1926-1989)

This is a set of three traditional Japanese kokeshi dolls, handcrafted wooden folk dolls that reflect the warmth and simplicity of regional Japanese craftsmanship. Based on their shape, facial expressions, and painted decoration, these dolls are believed to be in the Naruko kokeshi tradition, one of the most well-known and historically important kokeshi styles. The set consists of three dolls of different sizes, creating an appealing visual balance when displayed together. Each doll features the characteristic gentle facial expression with softly arched eyes and minimal lines, conveying a calm and affectionate presence. The bodies are decorated with hand-painted floral motifs, including chrysanthemum-like designs in red, yellow, and green, which are commonly associated with Naruko-style kokeshi. The tall central doll has a slender, elongated form with subtle ring patterns around the body, while the two smaller dolls display richer floral decoration. Natural wood grain is clearly visible beneath the paint, and signs of age-related wear—such as surface rubbing, fading, and small marks—can be seen. These traces are consistent with vintage handmade folk art and enhance the authenticity and character of the set. Although the dolls are unmarked, their style, painting technique, and overall form suggest production in the mid to late Shōwa period (昭和中期〜後期, Western calendar: approximately 1950s–1970s). This set is well suited for collectors of Japanese folk art, kokeshi enthusiasts, or as a tasteful interior display that conveys traditional Japanese aesthetics. Artist / Maker Information Kokeshi dolls are a form of Japanese folk craft that originated in the Tōhoku region of northern Japan.
