Ewe Twin figures Light wood patina of use, undamaged. These figures belong to the cult of twins. Among the Ewe, these representations are called Venavi and Hohovi among the Fon. the EWE live on a coastal zone extending from Ghana Togo and Benin to the borders of Nigeria. They practice a worship of twins very similar to that of the Yoruba, and it is in this framework that these statuettes are produced of which the very varied styles are sometimes depending on local influences (Akhan on the Ghana side, Yoruba on the Nigeria side).
