DESCRIZIONE DELL'OPERA DA PARTE DELL'ARTISTA Per me “Sole rosso di Kyoto” richiama il Giappone: il cerchio rosso al centro è un riferimento diretto al sole, al simbolo dell’“origine del sole”. Solo che qui non è messo su un bianco perfetto e pulito: intorno c’è una trama nera fittissima, come un contesto che circonda e spinge quel simbolo. In questa lettura, il nero non è solo “ombra” o riempimento: può essere visto come una scrittura, un richiamo alla calligrafia giapponese. Non una frase leggibile, ma un ritmo di segni, ripetuto e vivo, come un gesto che costruisce l’atmosfera e racconta senza descrivere. Il vuoto bianco attorno al cerchio rosso diventa quasi una zona di silenzio, uno spazio calmo che protegge il sole e lo fa risaltare. La trama invece rappresenta la complessità di ciò che sta attorno: densa, piena di dettagli, in movimento. Il risultato è un omaggio al Giappone reinterpretato: il simbolo resta essenziale e iconico, mentre tutto intorno diventa segno, energia e presenza. "Cosa ti comunica quest'opera?" Questo linguaggio nasce nel 2020, durante il periodo del Covid, trasformando la noia della routine quotidiana ripetuta in costruzione e variazione. Anche se il metodo è ripetitivo, ogni opera resta irripetibile, perché ogni cerchio e ogni traccia sono sempre diversi. Spedizione accurata e disponibilità per foto, video e approfondimenti su richiesta. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ ARTIST’S DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK To me, "Red Sun of Kyoto" evokes Japan: the red circle at the center is a direct reference to the sun, to the symbol of the “land of the rising sun.” But here it isn’t placed on a perfectly clean white field—around it there is a dense black weave, like a context that surrounds and presses in on that symbol. In this reading, black is not just “shadow” or fill: it can be seen as a form of writing, a nod to Japanese calligraphy. Not a sentence you can read, but a rhythm of marks—repeated and alive—like a gesture that builds an atmosphere and tells a story without describing it. The white space around the red circle becomes almost a zone of silence, a calm area that protects the sun and makes it stand out. The weave, instead, represents the complexity of what surrounds it: dense, full of details, in motion. The result is a reinterpreted homage to Japan: the symbol remains essential and iconic, while everything around it becomes mark, energy, and presence. "What does this work tell you?" My practice is a “writing of the gesture”: abstract, sign-and-calligraphic works in which circular modules and lattices of marks build rhythm, density, and breath. I’m interested in weight in space and in the balance between fullness and emptiness, accumulation and suspension, the intensity of the mark and areas of visual silence. This visual language emerged in 2020, during the Covid period, transforming the boredom of an endlessly repeated daily routine into construction and variation. Although the method is repetitive, each work remains unrepeatable, because every circle and every trace is always different.
