Rare example of blue quartz colored by microscopic needles of aerinite, from alpine fractures within a diabase body located close to the town of Torre de Alháquime. The formation conditions are close to the ones that formed the more famous Antequera blue quartzes, but the mineralogy is different with the main mineral that gives the blue color to the quartz being aerinite instead of magnesioriebeckite. The piece features tabular blue quartz crystals accompanied by feldspar and aerinite that really add a lot of contrast to the piece.
