This example has been intentionally modified with the front optical element reversed to create a Petzval-like optical space, producing strong artistic effects, swirly backgrounds, and expressive rendering not achievable with the standard optical configuration. This lens is in M39 mount, originally intended for Zenit-3 cameras. Use on standard M42 cameras requires an M39–M42 adapter ring. The adapter is not included. The modification changes the optical schema and results in lower native contrast and a more atmospheric image character. Images usually benefit from post-processing. After some practice, the lens can deliver very distinctive and impressive artistic results. Condition Focusing is smooth. Diaphragm is clean and dry.
