A matching pair of Japanese cloisonné enamel vases, decorated with refined floral motifs depicting white roses with green and copper-toned foliage, set against an elegant grey enamel ground.
The decoration is executed with fine cloisonné wirework on a copper body.
Late 19th – early 20th century Era: Meiji period (circa 1890–1910)
Brass rims and bases Description The vases feature a harmonious baluster form with gently flaring necks and circular bases. The enamel decoration is finely executed, with well-balanced floral compositions arranged around each vase. The restrained grey ground enhances the contrast and depth of the floral motifs, characteristic of Japanese export cloisonné from the late Meiji period.
Both vases are unmarked, which is consistent with many Japanese cloisonné works produced for export during this period.
Condition : One vase shows a small chip on the reverse side near the shoulder, visible in the photographs. - The second vase is in good condition with normal signs of age. No restorations observed. Overall condition is good, considering age and use.
