Japy Freres Table Clock. At the Grand Prix de Horlogerie in 1878. A A patented French carriage clock, called Vainqueur (Winner). The four-leaf clover design has a beautiful top handle and thick faceted glass (beveled glass). This rare clock has a nickel-plated brass case. In the brass frame there is an oval window at the top with a handle, through which the fascinating action of the mechanism can be observed. The white dial of the clock displays Roman numerals and a second dial at the bottom. On the back of the clock are keys with the inscriptions "Grand Prix De L'Horlogerie 1878" and "Déposé Breveté".
