This scientifically significant plate from the Lower Cambrian of Morocco features a adult internal and external moulds (AKA positive/negative or part/counterpart) of Daguinaspis ambroggii (Hupé & Abadie, 1950). It exhibits extreme detail from all anatomical characteristics, exception made to the pygidium (not visible, as on the vast majority of Falotaspidids).
The specimen comes from the Daguinaspis Zone of the Upper Amouslek Formation, the only horizon in the Tazemmourt Section with Konservat-Lagerstätte-type preservation.

Special notes on Coloration :
The specimens exhibit striking yellow hues, likely resulting from mineralization processes in the exoskeleton – possibly involving iron oxides incorporated during diagenesis. These tones enhance the contrast with the warm-toned limestone matrix and highlight the 3D relief of the axial lobe, cephalic structures, and pleurae, adding both aesthetic elegance and taphonomic interest.
Additional Notes:
Daguinaspis ambroggii was among the earliest defined genera of Cambrian trilobites based on Moroccan material and is restricted to the Western Anti-Atlas. Its occurrences suggest a preference for fine-grained siliciclastic sediments (Geyer, 1990, 1996). The absence of the pygidium - in this case, hidden - is common in fallotaspidids and may reflect post-mortem disarticulation prior to burial.
