A fine Japanese Imari porcelain plate dating to the Meiji period (late 19th century).
The plate features a richly decorated design typical of traditional Imari ware:
• Central medallion with stylized peony flowers and foliage
• Surrounding cartouches depicting floral compositions and a landscape scene
• Deep iron-red ground with white foliate motifs
• Hand-painted enamels in green, blue, aubergine, and iron red
• Underside decorated with four iron-red floral motifs
• Marked on the base with red Japanese characters
The decoration shows fine hand-painted detailing and slightly raised enamel typical for Meiji export porcelain.
