ITEM: This is a complete Japanese armor composite set (tōsei gusoku) from the Meiji period, showcasing both effective battlefield protection and ceremonial elegance — a fusion of function, symbolism, and aesthetic precision. Kabuto (Helmet): Type: Suji bachi kabuto in nerikawa with 24 vertical riveted plates. Maedate: A large golden crescent moon, emblematic of spirituality, mystery, and divine influence. Shikoro: Three-tiered neck protection with deep blue cords and vermilion edging. Fukigaeshi: Prominent and curved, with subtle engraved motifs. Tehen no kanamono: Classic circular fitting, minimalistic in design. Facial Guard: The throat is protected by a refined nodo-wa, decorated with red and black braiding and three family crests (mon): two round crosses and a golden leaf cluster. Do (Cuirass): Type: Tatehagi okegawa dō, horizontal lamellar cuirass. Lacquer: Black, glossy and well-preserved. Cordage: Brilliant red, combined with navy, green, white, and off-white cords forming a symmetric "V" pattern on both front and back. Decorations: Intricate gilt fittings and mon (round cross and floral). Sode (Shoulder Guards): Type: Ō-sode, large scale, multisegmented. Cord pattern: Consistent with the rest of the armor, reflecting high ceremonial value. Kote (Armored Sleeves): Lacquered iron segments sewn onto indigo fabric. Chainmail (kusari) sections and reinforced hand guards. Haidate and Suneate: Haidate: Multisegment thigh protectors with decorative trimmings. Suneate: Lower leg protectors with vertical plate arrangement. Historical context: This set reflects the Late Edo and Meiji transition of samurai armor from battlefield utility to symbolic and ceremonial importance. The crescent moon maedate evokes mystical or divine association, while the vibrant cordage and heraldic crests indicate elite affiliation, likely for formal parade use or high-ranking officials. Its excellent state of preservation, complete components, and balanced aesthetics make this a highly desirable armor. An authentic samurai armor that will be the central focus of any room where it is placed and that will delight any fan of Japanese art. This exclusive piece is making it an incredible opportunity for any collector of Japanese, war or simply historical art to get their hands on a piece that will attract attention wherever it is displayed, from offices, to private homes, offices or restaurants and will give a regal look to any place. The armour has gilded details that show the quality of the piece. The incredible workmanship accentuates such ornate pieces as the kabuto, the mempo and the Do. The stand to assemble it and the box are included. This armour is sure to delight any collector of Asian art and will be the focal point of any visitor's home, shop or office. There is a very ancient object and there are damaged by time and tears. We cannot exclude that parts have been restored or changed during the armor's lifetime. Due to the delicacy of continuous assembly and disassembly, returns are not allowed on old armor.
