Description This original painting by Maurizio Valch presents a symbolic landscape structured by horizontal planes of color and interrupted by solitary monolithic forms on the horizon. A vertical red axis at the edge of the composition acts as both boundary and threshold, suggesting the presence of an unseen structure beyond the visible field. The restrained palette and subtle transitions create an atmosphere of stillness and inner suspension. The distant geometric forms appear as silent markers within an open, timeless space, evoking orientation, memory, and the human impulse to find meaning within vast inner territories. Executed in acrylic on canvas, this work reflects Valch’s ongoing exploration of metaphysical landscapes, where minimal forms and architectural symbols become vehicles for contemplation and introspective depth. About the artist He is a visual artist, writer and graphic designer, trained in Graphic Design and Fine Arts. He lived in Miami (USA) until 2013, where he ran his own studio, and later in Barcelona (Spain), where he took part in exhibitions at the Royal Artistic Circle. In 2017, he presented a work at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. He has also collaborated with the MACBA. He works full-time on his pictorial series, which often include recurring symbols such as portals, staircases and night skies, understood as elements charged with personal and symbolic meaning.
