Simon Rosenau - 花瓶 (2) - 汉瑙纯银羊头花瓶一对 – Simon Rosenau – 800银质 – 约1900年 - .800 银 - 新月与皇冠
A highly decorative pair of Hanau sterling silver vases / ewers featuring sculptural ram-head handles, produced by the renowned Hanau workshop of Simon Rosenau around the turn of the 19th–20th century.
Each vessel displays a richly embossed body with flowing floral and rococo-revival ornament, rising from a flared base and crowned with elegantly curved handles formed as detailed ram heads — a classic Hanau motif inspired by earlier baroque and renaissance silver forms. The surfaces show refined chasing and repoussé work, giving depth and movement to the decoration.
Hanau silversmiths were celebrated for their historicist revival style and exceptional hand finishing, and these pieces are fine examples of that tradition — equally suitable as cabinet display silver, miniature vases, or collector’s decorative objects.
Both pieces are fully hallmarked with the German crescent moon and crown, 800 silver standard, and the maker’s mark SR for Simon Rosenau.
A matched pair with strong visual character — ideal for collectors of Hanau silver, figural silver, and antique German decorative arts.
