Patriotic charity medal, dating back to the early years of World War I (1914-15). Two piece construction, silvered tombac with black, white, blue and red enamels. 32 x 28 mm. Unlike official military decorations, these were sold to civilians to raise funds for war-related charities, such as supporting widows, orphans, and wounded soldiers.
