Pair of female ibeji with bold expressive features, with high conical and layered textured hairdos, large concave ears, big rimmed eyes, large pointed breasts, prominent projecting navel, sharp shoulders. Facial scarification and chin detail. Both have been ritually fed, and they are adorned with belts and beaded necklace. Deep burnished patina, camwood powder deposits. Right hand of one figure lost but still retains an old staple repair, hairline age crack. Rare types. Provenance: Long Island, N.Y. collection.
