梨形滴落铜花瓶,带斑驳的古铜绿光泽 — 山形铸造 - 铜 - 長谷川恵久 Hasegawa Yoshihisa(1938- ) - 日本 - 1900–2000

Item Description: 長谷川恵久 Hasegawa Yoshihisa(1938- )— Cast Copper Flower Vase, Mottled Patina (Chudo Hanaire) A beautiful cast copper flower vase by Hasegawa Yoshihisa, a skilled metal craftsman working in the distinguished Yamagata casting tradition — one of Japan's oldest and most celebrated metalworking lineages, designated as a Traditional Craft in 1975 and renowned for producing works of exceptional refinement. This piece takes a classic, gently swelling pear-drop form, with a wide, generously curving body tapering upward to a clean, slightly flared mouth. The surface is finished in a rich mottled patina — a deep, variegated play of warm golden-brown, terracotta red, and dark bronze tones achieved through the traditional chemical patination process characteristic of Yamagata copper casting. The interplay of colors gives the piece the appearance of ancient earth-bronze, evoking a sense of timeless natural beauty. The flat base bears the artist's impressed square seal mark. A work of restrained elegance, equally suited to a formal tea room or contemporary interior. Size Height: 14.5 cm Width: 8.5 cm Depth: 8.5 cm Weight: 581 g Condition The piece shows natural age-related patina, minor surface scuffs and discoloration consistent with use and age; no structural damage noted. Artist Profile 長谷川恵久 Hasegawa Yoshihisa (1938– ) is a metal craftsman working within the Yamagata casting (Yamagata Imono) tradition — a historic metalworking craft with approximately 900 years of history, centered in Yamagata City and designated as a national Traditional Craft in 1975. The tradition is renowned for producing exceptionally thin-walled, finely textured cast metalwork in both iron and copper alloys, with techniques including sand-mold casting, relief pattern-pressing, and traditional lacquer and chemical finishing. His works continue this tradition of creating refined cast copper flower vases with the characteristic mottled patina finish, and bear his personal seal mark on the base. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally.
