United States of America – One Cent (Large Cent) – 1819
Original 1836 U.S. Large Cent, Coronet (Matron Head) type, struck in copper.
Obverse: Liberty facing left wearing a coronet inscribed LIBERTY, thirteen stars around, date 1836 below.
Reverse: ONE CENT within a wreath, surrounded by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
The coin shows even circulation wear consistent with age. Main design details remain visible on both sides. Attractive dark brown patina with natural toning. Surfaces appear original, with no obvious signs of cleaning.
Historical & Rarity Notes:
The 1836 Large Cent is an early U.S. copper coin from the post-colonial period. While not the rarest date, it is a desirable early 19th-century issue
