A big, sculptural serving dish that was made in a collaboration between the Rosenthal Studio-Linie and the Italian artist Laura de Santillana (1955–2019). As the granddaughter of Paolo Venini, the founder of the Venini glassworks, de Santillana brought a heritage of Murano glassmaking to this modern design. The piece belongs to studio-linie, a series dedicated to combining fine art with functional objects through partnerships with international designers. The design features a big, hand-worked glass element that rises from a clean porcelain base in a wave-like curl. This combination of materials highlights the artist's ability to contrast the glazed white porcelain with the fluid textures of the glass.
