David Cross's Inside the Paddock: Racing Car Transporters at Work features nearly 550 illustrations, many previously unpublished, complemented by well-researched and informative captions. Following an introduction providing a historical overview of the circumstances and logistics involved in arriving at a race meeting, the book is divided into more than 150 chapters that examine and discuss the transporters used by individual teams, private drivers, manufacturers, constructors, and record-breakers. The author was ably assisted by Bjorn Kjer, a specialist in trucks, particularly race car transporters and the other support vehicles seen on racetracks.
