───────
This elegant Japanese lacquerware fubako (文箱, document box) features an elaborate gold maki-e design of autumn flowers set against a deep black urushi lacquer ground.
The composition is richly decorated with chrysanthemums and seasonal grasses rendered in fine gold powder techniques. Areas of dense nashiji-style gold sprinkling create a softly shimmering backdrop, enhancing depth and visual movement across the surface.
Although produced during the late Shōwa period, the piece retains a modern sensibility and decorative versatility, making it suitable for both traditional Japanese interiors and contemporary settings.
The interior is finished in smooth black lacquer, maintaining a clean and elegant appearance.
