This lot consists of three vintage Japanese Deba kitchen knives, traditional single-bevel knives primarily used in Japanese cuisine for preparing fish.

Deba knives are known for their thick and sturdy blades, which allow precise filleting and fish preparation. They are an essential tool in Japanese kitchens and are also highly appreciated by collectors of traditional Japanese cutlery.

All three knives bear maker’s signatures from Sakai (堺), one of Japan’s most famous historical knife-making regions.

Blade signature: 「堺末広」 (Sakai Suehiro)
The reverse side of the handle bears a branded mark reading 「堺末廣」.

Center knife

Blade signature: 「堺龍馬別打」 (Sakai Ryoma – Special Forged)
The handle bears a branded mark reading 「登録商標 堺龍馬」 (Registered Trademark Sakai Ryoma).

Right knife

Blade signature: 「堺登録菊虎特上」 (Sakai Registered Kikutora – Superior Grade)

The handle retains a caution label reading:

「冷凍食品やかたい骨にはご使用にならないでください」

which translates to:

"Do not use for frozen foods or hard bones."
