卖家的描述
Description:
A striking example of traditional Indian goldsmithing, this necklace was handcrafted circa 1980 by master artisans in India, drawing direct inspiration from the opulent design language of 18th-century Mughal and Deccan court jewelry. Executed in solid 24 karat yellow gold, the necklace captures the essence of royal adornment through its meticulous craftsmanship and historically resonant form.
The design features a rhythmic pattern of elongated tubular gold links and granulated cylindrical spacers, interspersed with fine black onyx or spinel seed beads—echoing talismanic beadwork commonly found in South Asian heritage pieces. The lower section is adorned with rich, natural sapphire (blue), ruby (red), and emerald (green) cabochon-cut beads, each chosen for its vivid color and organic charm. These gemstones are punctuated by hand-textured gold spacers with a subtle taper, enhancing the natural flow of the design.
The clasp is a traditional S-hook, shaped and finished by hand, consistent with historic Indian goldsmithing techniques still practiced in the late 20th century. Though crafted around 1980, the necklace is intentionally styled to resemble much older heirloom pieces, making it an ideal acquisition for collectors of antique-inspired jewelry.
Note: the necklace has been tested by a goldsmith using the touchstone or acid test method. No hallmark available on the necklace itself.
