Gerbino – Mosaic Ceramic Vase – Vallauris – France – Signed – 1960s/1970s

Decorative ceramic vase produced by the Gerbino Vallauris workshop in Vallauris, France, renowned for its distinctive mosaic technique developed by Jean Gerbino and continued by Dominique Gerbino.

The vase features the characteristic Gerbino faience fragment mosaic technique, where small pieces of coloured and previously decorated ceramics are assembled to create a unique patchwork decoration.

Some fragments still show parts of original motifs, which is typical of this traditional Vallauris technique.

The decoration combines blue, cream and ochre tones with a stylised floral frieze, creating a lively and decorative composition.
The base bears the impressed mark:
“Gerbino – Vallauris – LA M”

Condition
Very good overall condition.
A small chip on the base has been carefully glued back. The restoration is located on the foot and remains discreet when the vase is displayed.
No cracks or other damage.
