ITEM: Samurai armor (tōsei gusoku) – Edo period Complete Japanese armor from the Edo period, displaying a sober and distinctly martial character. Constructed with lacquered plates in deep brown and glossy black, with cream lacing and muted red accents, the ensemble emphasizes structural solidity over ostentatious decoration, typical of later functional armors. The kabuto features a robust, low-profile smooth bowl finished in glossy black lacquer, suggesting practical Edo workmanship oriented toward battlefield reliability. It is fitted with a well-tiered shikoro in matching dark lacquer. The menpō (fierce ressei-men type) is lacquered in deep red and fitted with a natural moustache, presenting the strong, intimidating expression favored in samurai martial aesthetics. The patina and modeling are consistent with Edo workmanship. The dō is a rigid lamellar cuirass in dark brown lacquer, visually reinforced by horizontal cream lacing at the waist. The even rivet pattern and deep lacquer finish are characteristic of functional Edo armor construction. The sode are of classic rectangular form in reddish-brown lacquered lames with dark lacing, well proportioned to the suit. The kote combine lacquered splints with kusari mail over dark textile, representing standard Edo combat configuration. The kusazuri retains an attractive alternating brown and golden-yellow pattern, creating a distinctive visual rhythm. The haidate and suneate remain materially and chromatically consistent with the rest of the armor. Overall, this is a well-matched Edo period armor of clearly martial intent, with deep lacquer and coherent components, embodying the solid functional aesthetic of service gusoku while maintaining strong collector appeal. A samurai armor that will be the central focus of any room where it is placed and that will delight any fan of Japanese art. This exclusive piece is making it an incredible opportunity for any collector of Japanese, war or simply historical art to get their hands on a piece that will attract attention wherever it is displayed, from offices, to private homes, offices or restaurants and will give a regal look to any place. The armour has gilded details that show the quality of the piece. The incredible workmanship accentuates such ornate pieces as the kabuto, the mempo and the Do. The stand to assemble it and the box are included. This armour is sure to delight any collector of Asian art and will be the focal point of any visitor's home, shop or office. There is a very ancient object and there are damaged by time and tears. There is a possibility that parts may have been added later or that restoration occurred. Due to the delicacy of continuous assembly and disassembly, returns are not allowed on old armor.
