A rare to find ritual Ashanti stool, used on family ancestors to honour the dead. These stools were not to be used as seats but as a way to commemorate the memory of an deceased family-member. When honouring the deceased special liquids are poured over this stool and candles are lit. Over time a nice black patina has formed on this object.
