Well-used and old guardian figure to protect households in the Fon community in Togo. These figures are placed in front of a household to protect against evil spirits. To make this protection more effectieve and stronger the statue is reguarly poured over with liquids and oils. The lower part, which stood in the ground, has been eaten away by weathering and insects. Nice offering-crust, due to its long and intensive use.
