A vintage Afghan tribal kelim saddlebag handwoven in wool on wool. These bags were traditionally used to store salt or other small condiments while travelling on donkey or horse. This saddle bag features a multicolor back with traditional tribal motifs on the face of the bags. The saddlebag is made in the Soumak Kelim weaving style on the front side and a flat multicolor striped kelim weave on the back. The bag contains geometric patterns, intricate motifs, and vibrant colors to create a visually striking design.
