The spherical shade is decorated with horizontal ribbed rings highlighted with fine golden lines, a geometric motif characteristic of the Art Deco period. The marbled glass displays soft turquoise and white veining that creates a warm and atmospheric light when illuminated. Based on the style and the marbled opaline glass typical of French production of the period, the shade can be attributed to Verreries de Portieux, a well-known French glass manufacturer active during the Art Deco era.
