独一无二且令人惊艳的 Art Deco 抽屉柜 - 榉木,青铜,Tamo(ash)木材 - 日本 - Taishō period (1912-1926)
A very stunning and rare large Art Deco cabinet of drawers 箪笥 (tansu), in three sections. Fully restored, cleaned, and waxed in Japan.
Designed in an impressive and uncommon format. The drawer fronts are veneered with richly figured tamo (ash) burl wood, displaying a striking grain with a warm brown tone and soft sheen. The outer frame is constructed from sturdy keyaki 欅 (zelkova) wood.
The upper section is slightly set back from the deeper sections below, creating a stepped profile. It features four glass sliding doors revealing shelves, with four adjacent drawers beneath.
The middle section is fitted with nine drawers, while the lower section contains six larger drawers, offering extensive storage capacity.
All drawers are fitted with beautifully patinated bronze handles with decorative Art Deco backplates with stylised geometric motifs, clearly reflecting Western design influences. The overall design forms a refined blend of Japanese craftsmanship and early 20th-century Art Deco aesthetics, characteristic of the Taishô period.
Aside from being fully functional, this cabinet serves as a striking statement piece.
