A very sought after fan by A. Lauronce., ca 1875 Auguste Lauronce (1837_1886) was a very innovative entrepreneur. And in 1873 he develloped a method to make lithographies on silk. His designs on fans were already in those days collectibles. This particular fan is showing two women in Greek/ Roman attire going to a puto that is tight to a tree. Signed on the left. The leaf is of silk satin and the back of silk. A stylish monture of polished bone. Both leaf and monture have suffered in the course of time. But still a very collectible object.
