☆ Takaoka Bronzeware Flower Vase, Bronze, Blue-Green with Gold Accents, Signed “Seizan” (1970–1980) (No Reserve Price) This is a traditional copperware piece produced in the Takaoka area of Toyama Prefecture, Japan. The vase is made of copper and dates back to the Showa period. The base of the vase is engraved with the signature “Seizan.” This striking vase features a vivid blue-green surface with gold accents that appear to melt and spread organically across it, creating a unique and artistic design. Depending on how the light hits it, the gold detailing softly shimmers, offering different expressions from every angle. Rather than industrial uniformity, each piece has its own individuality, resulting in a richly textured and distinctive finish. It is also said that copper ions help cut flowers last longer. 【About Takaoka Bronzeware】 Takaoka copperware is a traditional craft that began in the Edo period (1603–1868) and has been passed down for over 400 years. It includes a wide range of items, from small interior ornaments, Buddhist ritual objects, and flower vases to large-scale works such as temple bells, Buddhist statues, and bronze sculptures. Both in terms of sales and production volume, Takaoka copperware ranks among the top in Japan. 【Takaoka Bronzeware and “Japan’s Most Handsome Great Buddha”】 Japan’s three most famous Great Buddhas are located in Nara, Kamakura, and Takaoka.
