Beautiful silver embossed and floral-decor engraved berry spoon crafted by the renowned English silversmith Hester Bateman (bap. 1708 – 1794), one of the most respected female artisans of the 18th century.
Hester Bateman was known for her elegant, refined designs in neoclassical style, often recognizable by delicate pearl border decorations and subtle engravings.
She led her London workshop at 107 Bunhill Row with her sons and expanded the family business into one of the leading silversmiths of her time. Her work is still praised today for its quality, craftsmanship, and timeless beauty.
This berry spoon is a splendid example of her distinctive style – refined, functional, and with a touch of classic English elegance. A valuable collectible for enthusiasts of antique silver and a piece of silversmithing history.
