Camille Fauré - 花瓶 - 大型33厘米高的装饰艺术风格珐琅花瓶,饰有玫瑰花和蓝色丝带,约1930年制作 - 铜
A refined example of Camille Fauré’s Limoges enamel work, this large ovoid copper vase with gently conical neck is decorated in thick translucent polychrome enamels with blooming roses tied by a vivid blue ribbon. The softly iridescent ground and the relief-like enamel surface give the piece the luminous, textured presence for which Fauré’s workshop became celebrated. Signed and located, it belongs to the distinctive production of C. Fauré Limoges.
Camille Fauré was one of the leading figures of Limoges Art Deco enamelling. After developing new flamed and frosted relief enamel effects with Alexandre Marty around 1919, he achieved wider recognition in the 1920s, especially after the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs, and established his own workshop in Limoges under the name C. Fauré Limoges. His production ranged from bold geometric designs to more delicate floral compositions such as this one, where naturalistic roses are rendered in subtle pinks, greens and blues over a silvery, opalescent ground.
The present vase is very much in keeping with Fauré’s floral works from the late 1920s to the 1930s, a period in which his workshop produced enamelled copper vases of ovoid and bulbous form with raised translucent decoration. The combination of softly modelled flowers, luminous surface and generous scale reflects the refined decorative vocabulary that made Fauré one of the most sought-after names in twentieth-century Limoges enamel.
The piece remains highly decorative and visually impressive, with visible losses and surface interruptions to the enamel consistent with age and handling, which should be regarded as part of its condition. Height: 33 cm.
