Rainbow Moonstone is actually a transparent variety of Labradorite (not true Orthoclase Moonstone) known for its vibrant blue to rainbow-coloured flashes, or labradorescence. Popular in jewelry for its mystical appearance, it has a Mohs hardness of 6–6.5, making it suitable for pendants and earrings but requiring care in rings due to potential cleavage.
