Napoleon 3 - Antique French jewellery Box. 1860s This is a lovely genuine antique French Jewelry or Trinket Box made of wood marquetry: thuja wood, blackened wood, rosewood and brass fillets. It is Octagonal in form with cantered corners and is extremely well made. Octagonal hinged-lid, opening to reveal the original blue silk-lined interior and oval mirror. Blue silk capiton interior in good condition The interior of the box also has blue color. The top has a rectangular panel with a central shaped medallion of Ebony Brass. Brass inlaid medallion ornately decorates the center fretworked and engraved with a foliate and scrollwork design. Beautiful central cartouche brass inlay not engraved. You can use for your monogram! The keyhole in good condition (key not present). The attention to detail, in addition to selection and application of premium materials and resources are typical of Sormani .
